该学院的建筑学是全美唯一放在非设计或建筑学院下的专业，以二十一世纪可持续化发展作为主要方向的研究生项目。该专业主席Dennis A. Andrejko 是前美国建筑师协会的副主席，是美国太阳能被动式建筑设计的奠基人。该专业为三年半项目，目前共有研究生30多人，平均每年招生人数为12人，其中国际学生占20%。

在RIT还有一个数位媒体中心Center of Digital Media

美国国家聋人学院（National Technical Institute for Deaf）：是世界第一和最大的聋人理工学院。她的全称是美国国立聋人技术学院(National Technological Institute for the Deaf)和英文简称是NTID。她是罗彻斯特理工大学(Rochester Institute of Technology)附属九大学院之一，成立于1965年，位于美国纽约州的西北部罗切斯特市，邻近美国和加拿大交接的安大略湖。当初美国教育界和国会政界要人推荐和决定这所聋人技术学院的院址时，不仅考虑到罗切斯特市理工大学的雄厚实力和教学资源，让聋人也能接受世界一流的高等教育，而且认准作为柯达胶卷公司，博士伦隐性眼镜公司，和施乐复印机公司的故乡的纽约州罗切斯特市能为聋人技术学院毕业生提供很好的就业市场。

罗切斯特聋人技术学院前任院长是罗伯特·达维拉博士。他和现在教务长还有一些系主任是聋人。他曾在前总统布什内阁担任助理国务卿，主管全美国残疾人教育。他于1998年8月应邀到北京出席第六届亚洲和太平洋地区耳聋学术大会。NTID现任院长是RIT的副校长Gerard Buckley。 现有一千一百多名学生来自美国本土和其他国家。其中中国籍聋人学生30多名。
